One Planet Saanich and OneEarth Living, in partnership with the District of Saanich, launched the One Planet Seniors initiative in 2025. This initiative is providing free support to Seniors home facilities (55+ strata, independent living and care homes) based in Saanich.
Sustainable Living in Seniors Homes Action Guide
This practical resource – created specifically for 55+ stratas, independent living, and care homes – provides achievable ideas to support wellbeing, strengthen community connection, and advance sustainability. It provides:
- 100+ ideas across areas like food, waste, energy, transportation, and resident engagement.
- Real-world examples, simple tools to get started, and links to funding, technical support, and peer networks.
